THE PEOPLE
At CapitalEyes Optometrists we have both optometrists and opticians as our professional staff to assist with you optical requirements - eye examinations, glasses and contact lenses.
The professional staff at CapitalEyes are optometrists and optical dispensers. As well as registration with the NZ Opticians board, our staff are members of the NZ Association of Optometrists, the NZ Cornea and Contact Lens Society and the Association of Dispensing Opticians of NZ. These memberships provide continuing education for professionals.
The optometrists provide the eye examinations and contact lens fittings, while the optical dispensers provide the frame and spectacle lens advice.
Optometrists are now able to prescribe medical eye drop treatments (as a GP also does) to treat eye diseases. All of our optometrists are qualified to do this, which is referred to as a Therapeutic endorsement on their optometry registration. Optometrists are perfectly placed to manage the more common eye conditions that affect the front of the eye. If you have sore or red eyes, then please advise our receptionist who will make you a more urgent appointment with one of our therapeutically qualified optometrists."
The optometrists at CapitalEyes are Kevin and Leith O'Connor, Joy Johnston, Shonit Jagmohan and Samantha Letang.
